Standing in Solidarity with our Black & Brown Students & Community

At the Durham Literacy Center, we grieve the murder of George Floyd and the many other people who lost their lives at the hands of police. We condemn the violence and inequality that Black and Brown people experience here in Durham and across the nation.

We are proud of our community's efforts to address racist systemic structures that keep Black and Brown people living in poverty and fear, yet we know that much more work needs to be done.

We support our Black and Brown students and community as we work to dismantle systemic racism through education, knowledge and action.

We stand with our colleagues at the Minnesota Literacy Council.
