Support Our $10k for Tech Campaign!

Help the Durham Literacy Center purchase Chromebooks and other instructional technology to enable our students to learn remotely this fall!

$10k for Tech Campaign

Update: The response to this campaign has been overwhelming! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed thus far! With your help, we've been able to purchase 80 Chromebooks for our students, Zoom licenses for online ESOL classes, two new outdoor wifi transmitters, and online educational software for our high school equivalency and adult literacy students.

Now, we're increasing our fundraising goal to $15,000, which will enable us to also purchase 20 wirelessly connected tablets with 1 year of unlimited mobile data to help our students connect to online classes. Click here or fill out the form below to donate now.

The Durham Literacy Center has set a goal to raise $15,000 to support student technology by September 15th. The DLC's programs went remote in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, only about 30% of our students have been able to participate in our online programs due to lack of internet access and devices. We're doing everything we can to increase access so that more students can participate in our programs remotely this fall. This campaign will supplement funds received from the Duke-Durham Fund and the United Way of the Greater Triangle, enabling us to purchase 80+ Chromebooks for student use, invest in online learning software, boost our wifi signal so that it can be used outdoors, provide digital literacy instruction, and much more!
